JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – Liberty’s Ava Rajala and Ava Menna and Stetson’s Kathleen Nichols earned this week’s Atlantic Sun Conference (ASUN) Women’s Lacrosse Offensive and Defensive Player of the Week honors, announced Monday by the league office.
Rajala picked up Offensive Player of the Week honors after a five goal, seven assist performance last week. Her 12 points led the conference for the week where she recorded three free-position goals and four unassisted goals. Of her five goals and seven assists, four of the goals and six assists came in the team’s win over Queens.
Nichols also earned Offensive Player of the Week after she netted eight goals and three assists for 11 points over the week. The junior attacker put together a seven-goal performance against Austin Peay where she fired off nine shots with eight of them being on-goal.
Menna had a monster week for the Lady Flames with 26 draw controls over two games. The junior midfielder recorded 21 draw controls in the team’s 19-9 win over Queens marking a new program record.
