Jacksonville Claims ASUN Women's Lacrosse Championship

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. - Jacksonville University claimed the 2026 Atlantic Sun Conference (ASUN) Women’s Lacrosse Championship after a 16-11 victory over the University of Delaware Saturday afternoon at Rock Stadium.

Back-and-forth scoring opened the first period; Jacksonville got into the action right away when Jessica Giller found Julia Nicholson less than a minute into play for the first goal of the game. Less than two minutes later, Delaware’s Sophia Muscolino found the back of the net to tie the game up.

With the Dolphins taking a 4-2 lead into the second period, the Fightin’ Blue Hens continued to scrape their way back getting goals from Muscolino, Morgan Gore and Maggie Porter to cut their deficit to 8-5 heading into the half.

The Jacksonville offense continued to dominate, extending its lead out to as much as 12-5 in the third period with goals from Maeve Brennan, Allyx Berry and Ainsley Scruggs.

Delaware made a push in the fourth period, getting three consecutive goals from Callie Drab, Maggie Porter and Ella Rishko to make it a four-goal game with three minutes remaining in the game. A sixth goal from Brennan and the Dolphins with one minute left on the clock sealed the deal as Jacksonville claimed the 16-11 victory and the title.

Brennan led all players with six goals while Ainsley Scruggs from Jacksonville and Maggie Porter from Delaware both recorded hat-tricks for the game.

Jacksonville earns an automatic berth to the 2026 NCAA Women’s Lacrosse National Championship. The selection show is scheduled for Sunday, May 3 at 9 p.m. ET on ESPNU.
