JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – Jacksonville's Priscilla Williams and Tatum Brown, and EKU's Joseana Vaz were named this week's Atlantic Sun Conference (ASUN) Women's Basketball honors, announced Monday by the league office.
Williams earned Player of the Week honors after averaging 23.0 points, 12.5 rebounds, 4.0 assists, 1.5 steals and 1.5 blocks per game in a pair of wins. She began the week with 16 points, nine boards and four assists against West Georgia. Williams followed that up with 30 points on 10-of-15 shooting, and added 16 rebounds in the win against FGCU. She is the first ASUN student-athlete to score at least 30 points and grab at least 15 rebounds in a game this year.
Vaz helped EKU to two wins and earned Newcomer of the Week honors. She averaged 22.5 points, 4.5 rebounds and 1.5 steals per game. Her best performance of the weekend came against Austin Peay, when she shot 12-of-19 from the floor and 4-of-8 from beyond the arc to finish with 33 points.
Brown averaged a double-double for Jacksonville on her way to Freshman of the Year honors. Her top performance came against West Georgia, when she scored 16 points on 6-of-13 shooting, grabbed 12 rebounds and posted six steals. She also pulled down 10 boards in the win at FGCU.
