BATON ROUGE, La. - After clinching the No. 15 seed in the Region 2 Bracket of the NCAA Tournament, the Jacksonville University women’s basketball team’s historic season came to an end in the opening round against the No. 2 seed LSU Tigers.
A fast start from the Tigers threatened the Special William’s crew in the opening quarter, taking a 34-14 lead after 10 minutes. LSU went on to control the pace of the game and claim the 116-58 win.
The Dolphins finish the season 24-9, tying the program’s record of wins in a single season and capturing the program’s second ASUN Championship title and earning their second NCAA Tournament berth.
Jacksonville was led by Carmaya Bowman with 14 points while going 7-for-12 from the field. ASUN Freshman of the Year Tatum Brown added in 11 points and three steals while Makiya Miller chipped in nine points.
