JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – Central Arkansas' Bree Stephens, FGCU's Sinai Douglas and North Florida's Dezuray McGill claimed this week's Atlantic Sun Conference (ASUN) Women's Basketball honors, announced Monday by the league office.
Stephens was named Player of the Week after posting 38 points in a pair of Sugar Bear home wins and a road victory against Georgia State. She recorded 20 rebounds, 11 assists and seven blocks on the week for UCA. She also recorded her second career double-double against the Panthers, snagging 15 points and 12 rebounds. Douglas earned Newcomer of the Week. The Toledo, Ohio, native notched 21 rebounds,14 assists and three steals, two of which came against Indiana. She also notched 31 points on the week for a 10.33 points-per-game average. McGill was named Freshman of the Week. She was one of four Ospreys to reach double-digit points in the team's 61-57 victory against Bethune-Cookman. The forward helped lead UNF to two victories on the week, including a three-point game against Campbell.
