JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – EKU's Joseana Vaz and Lipscomb's Hope Counts claimed this week's Atlantic Sun Conference (ASUN) Women's Basketball honors, announced Monday by the league office.
Vaz earned Player of the Week and Newcomer of the Week honors. She started ASUN play with 14 points, nine rebounds and three assists in a win against West Georgia. Vaz followed that up with a double-double against Queens, finishing with 17 points and 10 boards while shooting 6-of-11 from the floor.
Counts took Freshman of the Week honors. She averaged 11.0 points, 5.5 rebounds and 3.0 blocks per game while shooting 53 percent from the floor and helping Lipscomb earn an opening weekend split.
