JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – Queens, FGCU, Georgia Southern and Old Dominion were each recognized with this week's Atlantic Sun Conference (ASUN) Swimming and Diving Awards, announced Tuesday by the league office.
Haley Ross of Queens earned Women's Swimmer of the Week honors after her performance against Gardner-Webb. She took first in the 100-yard backstroke with a time of 55.58 seconds, and also won the 200-yard backstroke in a time of 1:57.18.
FGCU's Alexandra Andueza and Georgia Southern's Karlee Wells were named Women's Co-Divers of the Week. Andueza placed second in the 1-meter dive against FIU with a score of 258.08, and also took second in the 3-meter dive with a score of 295.43. Wells took second in both dives against East Carolina. She posted a score of 299.25 in the 1-meter competition, and 272.25 in the 3-meter.
Bryce Mortimer of Old Dominion is the Men's Swimmer of the Week. Mortimer won three events in ODU's win against American. He won the 100-yard backstroke by nearly two seconds with a time of 49.65 seconds. He won the 200-yard breaststroke by seven seconds in a time of 1:59.55. He led off ODU in the 200-yard medley relay with a time of 23.55 seconds, helping the squad to a win with a time of 1:29.98.
