JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – Old Dominion's Zach Redding, Delaware's Emanuel Pitts, FGCU's Cassie Bauer and Georgia Southern's Karlee Wells earned this week's Atlantic Sun Conference (ASUN) Swimming and Diving Awards, announced Tuesday by the league office.
Redding took Men's Swimmer of the Week after winning the 100-yard butterfly with a time of 48.64 seconds. Redding also finished second in the 50-yard freestyle with a time of 20.04 seconds, and second in the 100-yard free with a time of 43.97 seconds.
Pitts was named Men's Diver of the Week after competing at the Navy Quad Meet against Kenyon, Navy and Princeton. He took seventh in the 3-meter dive with a score of 273.55, and finished ninth in the 1-meter dive with a score of 238.65.
Bauer claimed Women's Swimmer of the Week after winning four events at the Eagle Winter Invitational. She won the 100-yard breaststroke with a time of 1:03.04, and the 100-yard IM in 57.23 seconds. Bauer also won the 200-yard breaststroke in 2:20.45, and helped the Eagles win the 100-yard medley relay in 48.69 seconds.
Wells earned Women's Diver of the Week. She won the 3-meter competition against UNC Asheville with a pool-record score of 316.95, her best of the season and third best in program history. She also won the 1-meter competition, against UNC Asheville and SCAD, with a score of 308.30, the second best in program history.
