JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – Jacksonville's Priscilla Williams, West Georgia's Jasmine Jones and North Alabama's Gabby Jackson claimed this week's Atlantic Sun Conference (ASUN) Women's Basketball honors, announced Monday by the league office.
Williams was named Player of the Week after posting 44 points against Central Arkansas to set a program-scoring record. On the week, she recorded four steals, four assists and seven blocks. She posted 28 rebounds, 20 of which came in the Dolphins game against North Alabama. The Texas native shot .84% from the line and knocked down six threes on the week.
Jones earned Newcomer of the Week. She averaged 23.5 points and 6.5 rebounds per game to help the Wolves snap FGCU's 58-game conference win streak. She posted 26 points, one assist and seven rebounds against the Eagles. In UWG's win against Stetson, the forward shot 54 percent from the field and 71 percent from three.
North Alabama's Gabby Jackson earned Freshman of the Week after leading the team to two road wins. The Kansas City, Mo. native recorded 17 rebounds, two assists and three steals on the week. She went 2-for-2 from the line and recorded a 75 perecent three-point percentage.
