JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – EKU and North Florida split this week's Atlantic Sun Conference (ASUN) Men's Cross Country honors while the Eagles swept theWomen's honors, announced Wednesday by the league office.
EKU's Miguel Baidal was named Runner of the Week after he competed in Wisconsin's Nuttycombe Invitational where he crossed the finish line in 23:54.4. The senior placed 43rd out of 230 runners. He placed ahead of runners from nationally ranked Colorado, Northern Arizona and Butler. Craig Allard Jr. earned this Freshman of the Week. He was the top performing Osprey to compete in the Crimson Classic this weekend. The freshman posted an 8k time of 25:22.6 to earn 60th overall. His performance helped lead UNF to a runner-up finish ahead of Georgia Tech, Clemson and Vanderbilt.
Ozia Trujillo notched her third Runner of the Week honor this season after claiming the individual title at the Ed Holloway Classic. She crossed the finish line at the 20:48 mark which record the fourth-fastest time in program history. Tess Schultz was named Freshman of the Week after earning runner-up in the Eagles meet this weekend. Her 21:55 6k marked the fastest ever ran by an FGCU freshman. The Eagle duo helped the team claim the overall title.
