JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – The Lipscomb Bisons swept this week's Atlantic Sun Conference (ASUN) Men's Cross Country honors, while the FGCU and Lipscomb split on the Women's side, announced Wednesday by the league office.
Levi Streeval was named Men's Runner of the Week after finishing16th at the Southern Showcase hosted by Georgia Southern last weekend. The junior finished at the 23:57 mark, which ranks 5th all-time at Lipscomb and bests his personal record by 30 seconds. Joe Ponter earned the Men's Freshman of the Week after being the fourth Bison to cross the finish line. The Johnson City, TN, native finished the 8k in 24:36, earning 40th.
FGCU's Ozia Trujillo earned the Women's Runner of the Week honor after once agaon setting a new program record in the 5k. The junior was the first Eagle to cross the finish line, in 4th place (17:05.4). Lauren Eilers claimed this week's Women's Freshman of the Week after placing 75th at the 17:55.57 mark. The Bisons earned a 9th-place finish, while the Eagles came in 19th in a field of 54.
