JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – The Queens Royals swept this week's Atlantic Sun Conference (ASUN) Men's and Women's Cross Country honors announced Wednesday by the league office.
Danny Raymond was named Runner and Freshman of the week after pacing the Royals with a 15th-place finish in the Royals Classic. His 24:58.81 finish marked a career best as he helped Queens to a 7th-place team finish ahead of Presbyterian, Tusculum, conference foe Jacksonville and others.
Weronika Ptaszynska was named Runner of the Week after finishing 11th overall this past weekend. She crossed the finish line in 17:42.77, the fastest of any ASUN runner in the event. Laura Marioni earned the Freshman of the Week honor. Marioni placed 12th overall at the 17:43.46 mark. The Royals claimed a 3rd-place team finish, only bested by nationally ranked Northern Michigan and Catawba.
