JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – Jacksonville’s Sarah Beth Brake and Stetson’s Hayley Arnold have been named as the ASUN Conference’s Player and Pitcher of the Week, respectively, announced Monday by the league office.
Brake had a big weekend for the Dolphins as she went 5-for-8 at the plate for a .625 batting average and a 1.500 slugging percentage. The graduate student drove in three runs, scored four herself and knocked in two homeruns in route to a sweep over West Georgia over the weekend.
Arnold’s impressive performance in the circle last week earned her Pitcher of the Week honors after appearing in 17.0 innings over three games where she had a 1.64 earned run average, 10 strikeouts and only walked four batters in 71 faced. Arnold held No. 5/7 Florida to just three runs before picking up two of the Hatters three wins against Queens over the weekend.
