Stetson Claims 2026 ASUN Softball Championship

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. - Stetson University claimed its sixth Atlantic Sun Conference (ASUN) Softball Championship after a 4-0 win over Central Arkansas on Saturday.

Irianis Garcia put the Hatters on the board in the bottom of the third inning after she singled through the right side to send Gia Napoli home. Mason Barclay added to the score in the bottom of the fourth inning with a two-run shot over the right field fence to make it a 3-0 game.

Stetson’s defense continued its dominance as the Bears left four stranded on base throughout the game.

The Hatters got one final run in the bottom of the fifth when Jahnnie Patterson went home after Garcia hit into a groundout.

Hayley Arnold, the tournament Most Valuable Player, got the win with a three hit shutout while striking out five and allowing just two walks.

Throughout the championship, Stetson allowed just four runs while outscoring opponents 16-4.

Stetson earned an automatic berth to the NCAA Division I Softball Championship. The selection show will air at 7 p.m. ET on Sunday, May 10 on ESPN2, when the 64-team bracket will be revealed.
