JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – Queens’ Lindsay Henson and EKU’s Victoria Byrum have been named as the ASUN Conference’s Player and Pitcher of the Week, respectively, announced Monday by the league office.
Henson had an exceptional week at the plate hitting .500 and added a .688 slugging percentage to help pace the Royals offense. The graduate student from Lawrenceburg, Ind. recorded eight hits and drove in eight runs, including a walk-off grand slam to clinch the series over West Georgia for Queens.
Byrum, who collected her second weekly awards honor of the year, threw 12.0 innings for a 1.17 earned run average. Over her two appearances, Byrum allowed just two hits, walked only four batters while striking out 20 and keeping opponents batting average to just .051 for the week.
