JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – The Stetson duo of Andres Mata and Giuseppe Croce along with Lipscomb's Alex Kara earned this week's Atlantic Sun Conference (ASUN) Men's Soccer honors, announced Monday by the league office.
Mata was named Player of the Week after recording three goals, including two in the Hatters 4-1 victory against North Florida and one in Stetson's match with UTRGV. The Hatter's four goals marked the most goals in a conference game this year for the program. Croce was named Defensive Player of the Week. He helped anchor a backline that held the Ospreys, who lead the ASUN in goals, to just one. Kara notched eight saves in the Bisons' regular season finale to earn Goalkeeper of the Week. He faced 18 shots, allowing just one in the net to record a 0.889 sv%.
