Men's Soccer Weekly Awards - Sept. 22

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – The Queens' duo of Cole Pumpian and Matheus Rhormens along with Bellarmine's Johan Nissen-Lie and North Florida's Luciano Natoli earned this week's Atlantic Sun Conference (ASUN) Men's Soccer honors, announced Monday by the league office.

Nissen-Lie earned Player of the Week after notching four goals on the weekend in the Knights' matches against Spalding and Bowling Green. The sophomore recorded a hat trick in Bellarmines 7-0 win against the Golden Eagles, racking up a team-high six goals this season. Pumpian was named Defensive Player of the Week. He led the Royals backline to their fourth clean sheet this season against the eighth-best socring offense in the nation, No. 14 Clemson. The Marietta, GA, native recorded the game-winning goal to knock off the Tigers. Luciano and Rhormens were named Goalkeeper of the Week. Luciano recorded eight saves in a pair of Osprey shutouts against Mercer and South Carolina. The junior's shutouts extends North Florida's win streak to four matches, which ties the program's longest win streak since 2016. Rhormens faced 18 total shots, three on goal, in the Royals 1-0 upset victory. The sophomore currently ranks 10th in the nation with four clean sheets on the season and is tied for first in the ASUN.
