JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – Austin Peay's Sheals and Branton along with FGCU's Alexander claimed this week's Atlantic Sun Conference (ASUN) Women's Basketball honors, announced Monday by the league office.
Anovia Sheals earned the Player of the Week honor after averaging 12.50 points on the week in a pair of Govs wins. She posted 11 rebounds, four assists, three steals and one block while shooting .450 from the field.
Eve Alexander was named Newcomer of the Week. She recorded a career-high 24 points against Fort Lauderdale and shot 86 percent from the field (12-of-14). She notched seven rebounds and three assists in the Eagles home victory.
Jim'Miyah Branton claimed her second Freshman of the Week honor of the season. Branton averaged 9.0 points per game this week for APSU while recording eight assists and three steals. She shot 57 percent from the field and recorded two three-pointers to help lead the Govs to wins against Loyola Chicago and Berry.
