JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – Jacksonville's Haley Yount, Austin Peay's Dayan Malavé along with Central Arkansas' Caylan Koons and McKinzee Haas earned this week's Atlantic Sun Conference (ASUN) Volleyball honors, announced Tuesday by the league office.
Yount helped the Dolphins to sweeps of Bellarmine and EKU with a .619 hitting percentage with 1.33 blocks per set. The sophomore tallied 13 kills with no errors and remains the nation's leader in hitting percentage at .481. Malave had 13 blocks over a 2-0 weekend for the Governors with road wins against Stetson and FGCU. Four of her blocks were solos, totaling four rejections against the Hatters and a career-high nine against the Eagles. Koons averaged 11.29 assists per set in victories against Queens and West Georgia. She had 33 assists against the Royals and 46 in the matchup with the Wolves. Haas averaged 2.57 kills per set across seven sets, totaling 18 kills on .533 hitting. She added seven digs and 10.0 total blocks in the Sugar Bears 2-0 week.
