JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – North Alabama's Kendall Barnes and Kinslee McGowan, Jacksonville's Alija Heins and EKU's Addison Burke earned this week's Atlantic Sun Conference (ASUN) Volleyball honors, announced Monday by the league office.
Barnes finished the week with 47 total kills with an average of 5.22 kills per set in two UNA wins. She recorded 31 kills on a .500 hitting percentage in the Lions' five-set defeat of FGCU. McGowan averaged 12.89 assists per set for the Lions. She tallied 56 assists against Stetson and then had 60 in the victory against the Eagles. Heins recorded 16 block assists on the week and the Dolphins' wins against Austin Peay and Lipscomb. The junior middle blocker averaged 2.29 blocks per set to help Jacksonville remain undefeated in conference play. Burke averaged 3.83 kills and 1.67 digs per set in two EKU victories. The Fort Mill, S.C., native hit .314 in sweeps of Queens and West Georgia.
