ATLANTA - Pete Johnson and Ky Bickford of Central Arkansas took home the initial weekly honors of 2023 as the Atlantic Sun Conference Men's Cross Country Runner and Freshman of the Week, respectively, announced Wednesday by the league office.

- Helped the squad earn first place at the UCA Bear XC Invitational last week
- Clocked the top spot in the race with a personal-best time of 14:03.8 in the event
- Outpaced runners on the course from Arkansas Little Rock and Arkansas Pine Bluff
- Aims to keep momentum at the Michael Pretorius Invitational on Sept. 16
Men's Cross Country Freshman of the Week
Ky Bickford, Central Arkansas
Freshman | Mountain Home, Ark.
- First Career Freshman of the Week nod; initial accolade in Central Arkansas history
- Shined in his home debut after helping UCA to a first-place outing
- Recorded an eighth-place finish for the team in the UCA Bear XC Invitational
- Earned his spot thanks to a personal-best time of 14:49.2 last weekend
- Notched a placement in the top 10 against Arkansas Little Rock and Arkansas Pine Bluff
