JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – EKU's Justine Kipkoech and James Ndayishimiye claimed this week's Atlantic Sun Conference (ASUN) Men's Cross Country honors, while the Colonels' Metrine Serem earned both honors on the Women's side, announced Wednesday by the league office.
Kipkoech led EKU to a second-place team finish at the Swag's Louisville Cross Country Classic last Saturday in the 8K Gold Race section. The sophomore finished in third individually with a time of 23:38.1. Ndayishimiye finished 18th in the same field of 326 runners from around the nation with a time of 24:08.8. In the 5K Gold Race at teh Louisville Classic, Serem recorded a 29th-place finish in a field of 305 runners. The freshman from Nandi, Kenya, finished the course at EP Tom Sawyer Park in 17:30.1.
