Outdoor Track & Field Weekly Awards - May 6

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – Central Arkansas, EKU and Lipscomb took this week's Atlantic Sun Conference (ASUN) Outdoor Track and Field weekly honors, announced Wednesday by the league office. 

Bradley Giblin from EKU was named the Track Performer of the Week after breaking the 1,500-meter record with a time of 3:37.12 where he finished second in the field of 95 competitors and ranking him with the top time in the ASUN this season, 11th in the East Region and 16th in the NCAA.

Jaden Schneeberger from Central Arkansas took home this week’s Field Performer of the Week after earning first in the shot put with a throw of 18.09m (59-04.25) and second in the hammer throw at 62.88m (206-03).

Eli Jones from Central Arkansas earned Freshman of the Week honors when he snagged third place in the discus with a mark of 47.93m and shot out at 16.40m. His shot put throw ranks him second of all freshmen and fourth overall in the ASUN for the season.

Joel Nimoh from Lipscomb also earned Freshman of the Week honors after running a 10.51 in the 100m dash, ranking him fourth in the league, and got a ninth place finish in the 200m with a time of 21.67, also ranking him fourth in the conference.

Edna Chelulei from EKU won the 5,000m at the Duke Twilight with a time of 15:36.70, ranking her second in the ASUN, 14th in the East Region and 36th overall in the NCAA this year.

Joia Perry picked up this week’s Field Performer of the Week with a third place finish in the hammer throw with a mark of 63.06m, topping the ASUN leaderboard, ranking 16th in the West Region and 26th overall in the NCAA.

Morgan Kobylinski earned Freshman of the Week honors after finishing fifth at the Duke Twilight in the 5,000m with a time of 16:08.42. Her time ranks her fourth in the ASUN for this season and is the second fastest 5K time by a freshman in the conference this season.
