JACKSONVILLE, Fla. - Central Arkansas, EKU and North Florida highlighted the superlative awards for the 2026 Atlantic Sun Conference (ASUN) Outdoor Track & Field postseason honors, announced by the league office on Wednesday.
Rey Hernandez from North Florida was named the Most Outstanding Track Performer after scoring in five events at the 2026 ASUN Outdoor Track & Field Championships. He took the 110m hurdle title after running a 13.93, scored with a fifth-place time of 10.53 in the 100m dash and in the 400m hurdles with a time of 53.98. Hernandez also ran in the team’s 4x100 and 4x400 relays where he helped the Ospreys to titles in both events en route to earning three First Team All-ASUN selections.
Jaden Schneeberger from Central Arkansas was the unanimous selection for Most Outstanding Field Performer after claiming gold in the hammer throw and shot put at the ASUN Outdoor Track & Field Championships. Over the course of the season, Schneeberger topped the ASUN leaderboard in both events, ranking in the top 30 in the West Region and in the top 50 in the NCAA.
Nathan Uptagrafft from Central Arkansas claimed Most Outstanding Freshman following a 26-point performance at the ASUN Outdoor Track & Field Championships and was named as the Most Valuable Performer. Uptagrafft put together a 7,033-point performance in the men’s decathlon, finishing in the top-three in all events. During the season, Uptagrafft consistently found his name in the top of the leaderboards for the ASUN in pole vault, discus and javelin.
Brenae Allen from Central Arkansas earned Most Outstanding Track Performer after being named the ASUN Outdoor Track & Field Most Valuable Performer following a 22.5 point performance. Finishing first in the 100m dash, 200m dash and as the first leg in the 4x100m relay, Allen ranked first and second in the 100m and 200m, respectively, in the top 65 in the West Region and in the top 135 in the NCAA.
Edna Chelulei from EKU earned Most Outstanding Track Performer after running the seventh-fastest time in the 10,000m in NCAA history after clocking a 31:33.57 at the Stanford Invitational. Chelulei won gold at the ASUN Outdoor Track & Field Championships in the 1,500m with a time of 4:16.84, the fastest time in the ASUN this season, while clocking the conference’s second-fastest time of the season in the 5,000m at the beginning of the month.
Joia Perry from Central Arkansas earned Most Outstanding Field Performer after winning golf in the hammer throw at the ASUN Track & Field Championships with a conference record 63.71m throw. Perry went on to win four more podium finishes in the event over the season. She would finish atop the ASUN leaderboard, ranked 18th in the West Region and 29th in the NCAA.
Zoe Williams from Central Arkansas was named the Most Outstanding Freshman after earning gold in the 100m hurdles at the ASUN Outdoor Track & Field Championships with a 13.63 final time. She finished the season with the best time in the ASUN in the event, 51st in the West region and 126th in the country. Williams also ran the 400m hurdles at the ASUN Championship, finishing in ninth place and ranking second among freshmen in the conference for the season.
