JACKSONVILLE, Fla. - It was an exciting round of events on day two of the 2026 Atlantic Sun Conference (ASUN) Outdoor Track & Field Championships as Central Arkansas remained in the lead for both the men and women in the team competition.
Finishing up the men’s decathlon, UCA took all three top spots with Nathan Uptagrafft claiming first place with 7,033 points. Teammates Alexander Anderson and Sloan Jones took home second and third places, respectively.
Halle Perry of Queens kept her lead from day one to take the women’s heptathlon gold medal with a total of 4,850 points while Central Arkansas’ Keirstin Moore and Madisyn Crandall rounded out the top three.
Queens’ Jakob Nutzel took the top mark in the men’s discus with his first throw being a field-best at 55.13m while Gavin Barlow of West Georgia took the top spot in the men’s long jump with a mark of 7.59m.
Perry’s teammates, Vesna Kljajevic and Sara Sandric, both claimed first place in the women’s shot put and high jump, respectively. Kljajevic got gold after a throw of 15.57m while Sandric cleared 1.68m (5’6”).
Amani Sharif from Austin Peay took first in the women’s long jump after a mark of 6.20m.
In the final events of the day, EKU’s Tomas Vega and North Florida’s Annika Buser took first place in the men’s and women’s steeplechase.
