Outdoor Track & Field Weekly Awards - April 22

JACKSONVILLE, Fla.
EKU, Jacksonville, Lipscomb and Queens took this week's Atlantic Sun Conference (ASUN) Outdoor Track and Field weekly honors, announced Wednesday by the league office. 

KeShawn Allen out of Lipscomb won this week’s Track Performer of the Week after he won the 110m hurdles with a time of 13.87 - ranking second-fastest in Lipscomb program history and the fastest time in the ASUN this season. He also clocked a personal-best of 54.64 in the 400m hurdles, also ranking among the top times in the conference.

Josiah Ford from Queens took this week’s Field Performer of the Week marking a conference-best mark this season in the triple jump. His 14.68 meter mark got him third at the Winthrop Invitational and the record for triple jump at Queens.

Hamish Murray out of EKU picked up his second Freshman of the Week honor this season after taking first in his section of the 1,500m at the Wake Forest Invitational. His time of 3:46.80 is the tenth fastest of all runners in the ASUN this season.

Murray’s teammate, Brighter Jepchumba, snagged her second weekly awards nod with the Track Performer of the Week honor. Jepchumba finished second in the women’s 5,000m at the Wake Forest Invitational with a time of 15:28.09 - the fifth fastest time in Division I this season.

Samaryah White from Jacksonville took home this week’s Field Performer of the Week and the Freshman of the Week honors after earning her first career first place finish in the long jump with a mark of 6.16m. The jump was a career-best for White and ranked as the ASUN’s best jump of the season and the 35th longest jump in the NCAA East Regionals.
