Stetson, Central Arkansas and FGCU Highlight ASUN Women's Golf Postseason Awards

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. - Stetson, FGCU and Central Arkansas highlighted the superlative awards for the 2026 Atlantic Sun Conference (ASUN) Women’s Golf postseason honors,  announced by the league office on Wednesday.

Stetson’s Isaki Sakashita claimed Golfer of the Year after finishing second in the individual competition of the ASUN Women’s Golf Championship and leading the Hatters to a runner-up finish in the team standings. For the season, Sakashita finished the season with a 204 Clippd ranking with an adjusted average score of 72.4. She collected three individual titles over the season and eight top-five finishes.

Central Arkansas’ Alethea Paige Gaccion earned Freshman of the Year after her dominating performance in her rookie year. Gaccion finished tied for 10th at the ASUN Championship and finished with a Clippd ranking of 499. The Cagayan do Oro City, Philippines native won the Puerto Rico Iguana Invitational while collecting four top-10 finishes during the season.

FGCU’s Shannon Sykora earned his second-consecutive Coach of the Year honor after taking the Eagles to a runner-up finish in the ASUN Championship. Sykora led the FGCU to a Clippd ranking of 68 - the highest ranking of all ASUN women’s golf teams - while collecting eight top-five finishes for the season.
