JACKSONVILLE, Fla. –North Florida and Jacksonville claimed this week's Atlantic Sun Conference (ASUN) Indoor Track and Field Performer of the Week honors, announced Wednesday by the league office.
Jayvin Strouble of North Florida earned Men's Field Performer of the Week and Freshman of the Week honors. He won the high jump competition at the Gainesville Indoor Classic, clearing 2.04 meters (6-8.25).
Savanna Chadic took Women's Track Performer of the Week for Jacksonville. She won the 400-meters at the Gainesville Indoor Invitational with a time of 54.81 seconds, setting a new personal best in the event. Chadic also competed in the 200-meters, finishing third in 24.61 seconds.
Ma'Kala Davis of Jacksonville earned Women's Field Performer of the Week. She won the triple jump at the Gainesville Indoor Classic with a season-best leap of 12.61 meters (41-4.50). Her jump moves her into the top-70 in the nation in the event.
Aiden Arnold claimed Men's Track Performer of the Week for North Florida. He won the men's mile at the Gainesville Indoor Classic with a time of 4:06.79. Arnold also took third in the 800-meters at 1:53.35.
Nataly Walters of North Florida took Women's Freshman of the Week. Walters broke her own program record in the triple jump with a mark of 12.27 meters (40-3.25) to earn runner-up at the Gainesville Indoor Classic. She also took fourth in the long jump at 5.69 meters (18-8.00).
