Indoor Track and Field Weekly Awards - Jan. 21

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. –North Florida and Central Arkansas claimed this week's Atlantic Sun Conference (ASUN) Indoor Track and Field Performer of the Week honors, announced Wednesday by the league office.

Rey Hernandez took Men's Track Performer of the Week after setting three program records for UNF at the Jimmy Carnes Invitational. He set the school record in the 60-meter hurdles twice, placing sixth in the final with a time of 7.89 seconds. He then won the 200-meters with a record-time of 21.20 seconds, moving into the top-25 in the nation in the event.

Ella Chandler won Women's Track Performer of the Week after winning the 800-meters at the Jimmy Carnes Invitational with a time of 2:11.19.

Jaden Schneeberger earned Men's Track Performer of the Week. He took third in the weight throw at the Arkansas Invitational with a personal-best throw of 20.57 meters (67-6), moving into the top-40 in the country in the event. He also placed sixth in the shot put with a toss of 16.26 meters (53-4.25).

Nicole Shepherd claimed Women's Track Performer of the Week. She took third overall in the high jump with a leap of 1.75 meters (5-8.75) and now ranks inside the top-50 in the country.

Parker Banzhaf was named Men's Freshman of the Week after finishing sixth overall in the 3000-meters at the Jimmy Carnes Invitational with a time of 8:21.40. 

Jane Musengwa garnered Women's Freshman of the Week honors. She took fourth in the shot put event at the Arkansas Invitational with a throw of 13.53 meters (44-4.75). Musengwa also placed 11th in the weight throw at 15.02 meters (49-3.5).
