JACKSONVILLE, Fla. - Central Arkansas, North Florida and Queens claimed the 2026 Indoor Track and Field Postseason Awards on the Men's side while Central Arkansas and Jacksonville earned the distinctions on the Women's side.
North Florida's Rey Hernandez was named Track Performer of the Year. He was named MVP at the championship after a first-place finish in the Men’s 200m, second-place finish in the Men’s 60mH and third-place finish in the Men’s 60m for a total of three podium finishes. He helped North Florida finished runner-up at the ASUN Indoor Championships, the program’s best placement in the event. Hernandez claimed the title in the Men’s 200m with a program-record time of 21.12. He set the program-record in the Men’s 60m with a time of 6.78 in the prelims at the ASUN Indoor Championships.
Fellow Osprey, Tyshone Bolden earned the Field Performer of the Year distinction alongside Jaden Schneeberger of Central Arkansas. Bolden claimed a first-place finish in the Men’s High Jump with a personal-best height of 2.07m at the ASUN Indoor Championships. He placed top-five in the Men's High Jump in all four meets this season. Schneeberger's mark of 19.74m (64-09.25) in the ASUN Championships earned the gold medal, defeated the next closest competitor by over two feet. His season best mark of 20.86m (68-05.25) comes in as the 52nd best mark in the nation and the top mark in the ASUN. He also earned his second straight gold medal in the shot putcompetition. His mark of 18.31m (60-01) was nearly six feet farther than the next closest competitor and at the time was the 46 th best mark in the nation (now 52nd ), as well as the top mark in the ASUN this season.
Queen's Oliver Cooper was named Freshman of the Year. He earned first-place in the 800-meter run at the ASUN Indoor Championships with a time of 1:50.49 which was good for a personal best. He was the only freshman to claim first place at the event. He led the Royals to a fifth place finish in the 4x400.
Central Arkansas' Brenae Allen was named Track Performer of the Year. She added her name into the UCA and ASUN record book with her time of 7.33 in the Women's 60m dash prelims at this year's Indoor Championships, then later claimed the gold medal with a time of 7.36. Allen won a second gold medal of the Championship meet in the 200m dash, crossing the finish line at 23.68, just 0.02 seconds behind the UCA record. She also ran the first leg of the 4x400m relay, placing 5th in the championships. To cap off the season, Allen was named ASUN Indoor Championships Most Valuable Performer, the first women's indoor MVP in UCA's time in the ASUN.
Jacksonville junior, Ma'Kala Davis earned the Field Peformer of the Year honor after recording two first-place finishes at the Indoor Championships. In the Triple Jump, she recorded a 12.67m leap which marked a career-best. Her performance marked the first time Jacksonville has won the event since, Davis herself in 2024. She also took home first-place in the Long Jump with another career-best of 5.94m. This was the first time since 2013 that the Dolphins took home first in the event.
UCA's Zoe Williams capped her season with the Freshman of the Year honor. Williams ran an 8.56 in the prelims for the second fastest qualifying time. She earned a silver medal finish in the finals round with a time of 8.49, just 0.01 seconds behind the first place finisher.
