Indoor Track and Field Weekly Awards - Jan. 28

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. –Bellarmine, EKU and North Florida claimed this week's Atlantic Sun Conference (ASUN) Indoor Track and Field Performer of the Week honors, announced Wednesday by the league office.

Zander Hooten of Bellarmine earned Men's Track Performer of the Week. Hooten won the 60-meter hurdles at the PNC Bank Bellarmine Classic, setting a new program record with a time of 7.96 seconds. He also placed fifth in the 60-meters with a time of 7.11 seconds.

North Florida's Katerina Natsiopoulou earned Women's Track Performer of the Week. She placed second in the 600-meter with a time of 1:31.88, and helped the Osprey DMR team take second with a total time of 12:12.45.

EKU's Daryoce Flemons was named the Men's Field Performer of the Week. He finished first among collegiate athletes in the weight throw at the PNC Bank Classic with a program-record throw of 18.69 meters (61-4.00). 

Nataly Walters of North Florida took Women's Field Performer of the Week. Walters broke the program record in the triple jump twice, taking second overall and first among collegiage athletes with a leap of 12.08 meters (39-7.75) at the ACSEC Invitational. She also placed third in the long jump at 5.68 meters (18-7.75). 

Jayvin Strouble of North Florida claimed Men's Freshman of the Week. He won the high jump at the ACSEC Invitational with a personal-best leap of 2.05 meters (6-8.75).

Metrine Serem of EKU was recognized as Women's Freshman of the Week. Serem took first in the mile at the PNC Bank Classic with a time of 4:53.85.
