Indoor Track and Field Weekly Awards - Feb. 4

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. –Central Arkansas, EKU and West Georgia claimed this week's Atlantic Sun Conference (ASUN) Indoor Track and Field Performer of the Week honors, announced Wednesday by the league office.

Bradley Giblin of EKU earned Men's Track Performer of the Week. He placed second overall in the mile at the PNC Lenny Lyles Classic in Louisville, posting a personal-best time of 3:56.29. The time moves Giblin into 33rd in the nation in the event.

Edna Chelulei of EKU claimed Women's Track Performer of the Week. Chelulei competed in the 3000-meters at the BU John Thomas Terrier Classic in Boston. She placed fifth among collegiate athletes in a loaded field, setting a new school record and moving into the top-20 in the nation in the event with a time of 8:52.79.

Jaden Schneeberger took Men's Field Performer of the Week for Central Arkansas. Schneeberger won the weight throw competition at the Washburn Open and Multi Meet at 19.56 meters (64-2.25). He also placed fourth in the shot put with a throw of 16.61 meters (54-6.00).

Joia Perry earned Women's Field Performer of the Week for Central Arkansas. Perry won the weight throw at the Washburn Open and Multi Meet with a throw of 20.42 meters (67-0.00). Her mark set a new school indoor record, as well as the facility and meet record, and moves her into 25th in the nation in the event.

Blake Davis of West Georgia claimed Men's Freshman of the Week. Davis broke the program record in the high jump at the University of South Alabama Jaguar Invite, taking sixth overall with a leap of 2.01 meters (6-7.00). He also placed third in the triple jump at 14.07 meters (46-2.00).

Zoe Williams of Central Arkansas took Women's Freshman of the Week. Williams placed third overall in the 60-meter hurdles at the Washburn Open and Multi Meet. She broke the school record in the event twice, first in the prelims at 8.57 seconds, then again in the final at 8.45 seconds.
