Queens, UNCA Split Women's Swimming and Diving Honors



ATLANTA – Danielle Melilli of Queens and Jade Canady of UNC Asheville claimed Atlantic Sun Conference Women's Swimming and Diving weekly honors, which were announced Tuesday by the league office.

Women's Swimmer of the Week
Danielle Melilli, Queens
Graduate | Douglasville, Ga.

- Third Career ASUN Women's Swimmer of the Week honor; sixth nod in program history for the Royals 
- Was a key cog for Queens last week in meets against both Wingate and Emory
- Took home two individual wins while besting the field in a pair of relay races
- Won the 50-Yard Freestyle with a time of 23.76; claimed the 100-Yard Freestyle in 51:73
- Took first in both the 200-Yard Medley Relay (1:44.73) and 200-Yard Freestyle Medley Relay (1:36.28)

Women's Diver of the Week
Jade Canady, UNC Asheville
Senior | Huntersville, N.C.

- Third Career ASUN Women's Diver of the Week award; fourth accolade in program history for the Bulldogs
- Helped the team earn valuable points in its bout with East Carolina last weekend
- Finished in the top spot among all UNC Asheville student-athletes in diving
- Posted a 191.03 during the 1-Meter Dive; followed up with a 3-Meter Dive of 203.48
- Looks to continue the momentum against Liberty beginning on Oct. 27
