JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – EKU and FGCU earned this week's Atlantic Sun Conference (ASUN) Baseball honors, announced Monday by the league office.
David Alvarez was named Player of the Week after leading EKU to a series sweep agaisnt Bellarmine. He recorded five runs, four doubles, one home run and nine RBI for a .667 batting average across the weekend. He was 10-for-15 at the plate and posted a 1.133 slugging percentage and a .706 on base percentage.
FGCU's Ashton Pocol was named Pitcher of the Week. Pocol earned his sixth save of the season when the Eagless defeated Jacksonville 3-2 on Thursday. In three innings of work, he struck out four batters and tallied three groundouts.
