JACKSONVILLE, Fla. - Jacksonville's Alex Walsh was named 2026 Atlantic Sun Conference (ASUN) Baseball Scholar-Athlete of the Year. Walsh highlighted an Academic All-ASUN Team of 57, announced by the league office on Monday.
Walsh, a senior, majoring in Finance, holds a 3.93 GPA. He has earned recognition as a Davis College of Business Top 25 Honorable Mention selection at Jacksonville. He has led the Dolphins to a 3.54 team GPA this year, the highest team GPA in program history. On the mound, the Boynton Beach, Fla. native holds a 6-3 record across 12 starts with 57 strikeouts in 59.2 innings pitched, consistently taking the ball and has helped lead the Dolphins to a series of wins including two against Florida and UCF.
The Academic All-ASUN recognizes student-athletes who excel both in competition and in the classroom. All student-athletes named to the list boast a 3.50 cumulative grade point average or better and participated in at least half of their team's games.
