North Alabama Earns Victory over Jacksonville to Advance to Thursday's Slate

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. - Following a weather delay, North Alabama earned a shutout victory against Jacksonville to advance to Thursday matchup against Graphite Division Champion, North Florida.

Game 3: #4 North Alabama 5, #5 Jacksonville 0

The Lions offense plated three runs, highlighted by an RBI double down the line from Tyler LePage and a two-out two-run single from Jackson Westmoreland to get the scoring started. UNA's Dylan Coleman, executed a sacrifice fly to drive in a run, followed immediately by a two-out RBI single from Nash Rippen to extend the North Alabama lead to 5-0. That run support proved to be more than enough for the UNA arms, who completely silenced the Dolphins' bats for the remainder of the afternoon. Gavin Oswald earned the win for North Alabama against Jacksonville, improving his season record to 8-3. Over 5.0 innings on the mound, Oswald allowed two hits, issued zero walks, and recorded three strikeouts. He threw 83 total pitches, 55 of which were strikes, while facing 17 batters. The Lions advance to Thursday and will faceoff against the top-seeded North Florida Ospreys at 1 PM ET, after the third-seeded FGCU Eagles and the sixth-seeded Central Arkansas Bears take the field at 9 AM ET.
