JACKSONVILLE, Fla. - North Florida, FGCU, Stetson and North Alabama claimed wins in the 2026 Atlantic Sun Conference (ASUN) Men's Tennis Championship quarterfinals on Wednesday.
#1 North Florida 4, #8 Austin Peay 0
North Florida claimed the Doubles point on Court 2 when Riccardo Ciulli and Youssef Labbene defeated Glen Arnet and Lucas Ranciaro. The Ospreys capitlized on their 1-0 lead in Singles play by earning three straight set victories on Courts 5, 1 and 6. Aron Major clinched the match for the top-seeded Ospreys with a 6-2, 6-1 victory over Ranciaro. UNF advances to Friday's Semifinals where they will faceoff against FGCU.
#5 FGCU 4, #4 EKU 3
FGCU and EKU battled to the end in their Quarterfinal matchup on Wednesday morning. FGCU and EKU each claimed a Doubles court before the Eagles secured the point on Court 3 when Gustav Hasslegren and CJ Smith defeated Fernando Bulnes and Adrian Contreras 6-3. In Singles play the Colonels claimed Court 3 in straight set fashion when Bulnes defeated Jonathan Baron 6-2,6-2. The Eagles claimed Court 5 to take a 2-1 lead before EKU claimed Court 1 to tie the match at two a peice. Court 2 and Court 6 finished next with FGCU taking the second court and EKU taking the sixth court. Mika Bunjes clinched the match for the Eagles on Court 4 with a victory over Ilie Cazac 6-4,2-6,7-6(8-6). The Eagles advance to the Semifinals to take on the No.1-seeded Ospreys.
#3 Stetson 4, #6 Lipscomb 0
Stetson started today's match by claiming the Doubles point on Court 2 when Christian Kuehne and Santia Padilla Cote defeated Lipscomb's Facundo Perlov and Filippo Verdese. The Hatters claimed the first Singles point on Court 3 when Xavier Sarda Marti defeated Henrique Ushizima. Stetson then claimed the third court before clinching the match on Court 5 with a 7-6 (7-4), 6-3 victory by Marc Saura. Stetson advanced to the Semifinals to take on the second-seeded North Alabama Lions.
#2 North Alabama 4, #7 Abilene Christian 3
North Alabama defeated Abilene Christian 4-3 to advance to the Semifinals. North Alabama claimed the Doubles point on Court 1 when Pair of the Yesr, Alberto Altur and Ian Orgiles outscored Merse Deli and Ethan Scribner, 7-5. UNA took an early 3-0 lead after claiming Courts 5 and 6 before ACU earned the point on Court 4. The Wildcats then claimed the point on the first and third courts to tie the match. Altur defeated Tomas Quesada 2-6,7-5,6-4 to send the Lions back to the Semifinals to take on the Stetson Hatters in what will be a rematch of the 2025 ASUN Men's Tennis Championship Final that saw the Lions walk away champions.
