JACKSONVILLE, Fla. - North Florida captured two superlative awards while EKU and North Alabama each claimed one honor each to highlight the 2026 Atlantic Sun Conference Men's Tennis postseason honors, announced Monday by the league office.
North Florida's Andreas Scott was named Player of the Year. Scott posted an 8-7 singles mark this season from the top flight. He has recorded seven consecutive singles wins on the top court this season to lead the Ospreys to a 13-8 overall season. North Alabama's Alberto Altur and Izan Orgiles were named Doubles Pair of the Year after posting a 7-4 record together from the top flight. The duo earned an ITA ranking at No. 73 this season and ended the regular season with a four match win streak that saw the pair earn wins against Georgia Southern, Stetson, UAB and Lipscomb. Marek Nano earned the Freshman of the Year accolade after beginning his collegiate career with a 5-5 singles record and 10-8 doubles record for the EKU Colonels this season. In singles, Nano has collected victories over ETSU, Butler, IU Indianapolis, Jacksonville State and Bellarmine. In doubles, Nano helped win three straight matches from Feb. 21-27 at the No. 1 spot over Furman (6-3), Chattanooga (6-4) and in-conference foe North Alabama.
Ospreys' John Collins was named Coach of the Year in his third season at the helm. Collins' team posted a 13-8 record which included a 9-3 home record this spring to clinch the top seed in the 2026 ASUN Men's Tennis Championship. Collins reached a career mileston of 100 wins against College of Charleston back in Feburary.
