Outdoor Track & Field Weekly Awards - April 14

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – Central Arkansas and West Georgia swept this week's Atlantic Sun Conference (ASUN) Outdoor Track and Field weekly honors, announced Wednesday by the league office. 

Vaughn Dickenson Jr. from West Georgia claimed this week’s Track Performer of the Week after he took first place in the 100m with a 10.46 time - the new top time in the conference this season. He followed up that performance with a personal-best time in the 200m, 21.87, ranking in the top 10 in the ASUN.

Cole Hungate out of Central Arkansas snagged the Field Performer of the Week after he cleared 14.75m in the pole vault for a sixth place finish and the best mark in the ASUN this season.

Blake Davis from West Georgia claimed the Freshman of the Week honor after he claimed fourth place in the triple jump with a mark of 13.82m, the best mark for a freshman in the ASUN this season. He followed that up with a first place finish in the high jump, clearing 1.96m - the best mark for a freshman in the ASUN this season and the fourth best mark overall.

Brenae Allen from Central Arkansas took home the Track Performer of the Week honor after she finished sixth in the 100m at 11.47, good enough for the best time in the ASUN this season and a top-100 time in the nations (97), and ran a 23.68 in the 200m where she took fifth place and set a new top time in the ASUN so far this season.

Day Atkins out of West Georgia snagged her second-consecutive Field Performer of the Week honor after she took first place in the hammer throw with a mark of 49.77m, ranking in the top-10 in the conference. Atkins also took home second place in the discus with a throw of 42.29m - the third best mark in the ASUN this season - and another first place finish in the shot put with a mark of 13.47m, ranking in the top five in the conference.

Kellie Walker from West Georgia claimed her first Freshman of the Week honor after she placed fourth in the 100m with a time of 12.03, finishing as the top freshman in the race and, currently, ranks eighth in the ASUN and as the second-fastest freshman in the conference for the event. Walker also snagged first place in the 200m with a 24.31 time - the fourth-best time in the conference and the best of all freshmen. Additionally, Walker ran the third leg of the 4x400m relay where the team secured a second place finish.
