Outdoor Track & Field Weekly Awards - March 25

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – Austin Peay, EKU, North Florida, Queens and West Georgia claimed this week's Atlantic Sun Conference (ASUN) Outdoor Track and Field weekly honors, announced Wednesday by the league office. 

North Florida’s Avaunt Ortiz claimed the first Outdoor Men’s Track Performer of the Week for the 2026 season after medaling twice in the River City Relays after running a 46.66 in the 400m while running the anchor leg of the 4x400m to take first place with a time of 3:10.63.

Godsfavor Adenuga from West Florida claimed this week’s Men’s Field Performer of the Week after he captured first place in the long jump with a mark of 7.10m and seventh in the triple jump with a 14.48m mark.

EKU’s Hamish Murray grabbed Men’s Freshman of the Week honors after the New Zealand native won the 800m at the EKU Invitational with a time of 1:53.87. Queens’ Oliver Cooper grabbed Men’s Freshman of the Week, as well, after he claimed first place at the Charlotte 49er Classic after running a 1:49.17 in the 800m.

Madeline Castillo from North Florida snagged this week’s Women’s Track Athlete of the Week after she won the 10,000-meter with a personal best time of 35:25.42 at the Black and Gold Challenge.

Austin Peay’s Madelyn Kocik earned this week’s Women’s Field Performer of the Week after she grabbed first place in the triple jump at 12.37m (40’7”) and second place in the long jump with a mark at 5.88m (19’3”.5) at the Margaret Simmons Invitational.

Metrine Serem helped EKU to a sweep of the podium in the 800m after she led the pack with a time of 2:08.45, earning her Women’s Freshman of the Week.
