JACKSONVILLE, Fla. - North Florida's Allison Benning was named the 2025 Atlantic Sun Conference (ASUN) Softball Scholar-Athlete of the Year. Benning highlighted the 11-member Academic All-ASUN Team announced by the league on Wednesday.
She helped lead the Ospreys to their first ASUN Tournament Championship this season after defeating EKU on May 10 in Oxford, Ala. The senior holds a 4.0 GPA while pursuing a degree in Communications. At the plate, she notched 56 hits, 50 RBIs, 45 runs scored and 19 home runs during the regular season. In the circle, the Lake Elmo, Minn., native has a 1.51 ERA, 24 wins, a .183 opponent BA and 169 strikeouts. She ranks 19th in the nation for homeruns and broke both the UNF single-season and her own career home run records this spring.
The Academic All-ASUN Team recognizes student-athletes who excel both on the field and in the classroom. All members of the team boast a 3.50 cumulative grade point average or better and participated in at least half of their team's games.
