JACKSONVILLE, Fla. - For the first time in the program's history North Alabama won the Atlantic Sun Conference (ASUN) Men's Tennis Championship. The Lions defeated Stetson, 4-1, on Sunday afternoon at the UNF Tennis Complex.
The Lions earned a Doubles win on Court 1 Birtan Duran and Fedoryshyn before Alberto Altur and Satoru Nakajima secured the Doubles point on Court 2. Altur struck first for UNA in Singles action with a victory against Christian Kuehne on Court 2. Haris Eminefendic picked up a 6-4, 4-6, 6-2 win for the Hatters on Court 5. The Lions' Fedoryshyn defeated Sami Ozzor in three sets to put UNA ahead 3-1 in the match. The match-securing point came courtesy of Nakajima, the Tournament MVP, who outlasted his Hatter foe 5-7, 6-2, 7-6 (7-5).

North Alabama earned the league's automatic qualifier to represent the ASUN in the 2025 NCAA Men's Tennis Championship. The Lions await the selection show which airs on NCAA.com Monday, April 28.
