JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – Coastal Carolina was selected as the favorite to win the 2025 Atlantic Sun Conference (ASUN) Women's Lacrosse Championship with the Chanticleers earning the top spot in the preseason coaches poll, announced by the league office Wednesday.
The Chanticleers are coming off a 14-6 season that saw the program capture its first ASUN Championship. Jacksonville, who was the runner-up in last year's conference championship, was selected second in the coaches poll. Liberty, Lindenwood and Queens rounded out the rest of the top five of the preseason rankings, respectively.
Queens' Kayleen Favreau was selected as Preseason Offensive Player of the Year. The junior attacker was named 2024 Player of the Year after playing in all 17 games and starting in 16. She ended last season with 80 points on 59 goals and 21 assists. Liberty's Katie Colavito was tabbed the Preseason Midfielder of the Year after being named to the 2024 ASUN All-ASUN Second Team and All-Tournament Team. She was second on the Flames with 32 goals and third with 78 points. Jacksonville's Kaila Stasulli, the reigning Defensive Player of the Year, was named the 2025 Preseason Defensive Player of the Year. Anchoring the Dolphins' defense, she was second on the team with 33 ground balls and third on the team with 15 caused turnovers.
