North Florida Sweeps Stetson to Win 2024 Men's Tennis Championship

FORT MYERS, Fla. - For the third time in the program's history, and the first time since 2018, North Florida won the Atlantic Sun Conference Men's Tennis Championship. The Ospreys swept Stetson on Sunday afternoon at the FGCU Tennis Complex.

ASUN Pair of the Year Jonas Hartenstein and Rodrigo Crespo secured the first Doubles match in favor of the Ospreys before Stetson's Eder Blanco Fernandez and Haris Eminefendic evened things up. The championship's Double points came down to a matchup on Court 2 between UNF's Patrick Kotan/Juan Pablo Cenoz and the Hatters' Riccardo Baldi/Lucas Oliver which was won by the Osprey duo. North Florida struck first in Singles action on Court 5 when Andreas Scott defeated Marc Saura in straight sets by scores of 6-2, 6-2. After a 7-5, 6-4 triumph by Cenoz on Court 3, UNF was up 3-0. First Team All-ASUN selection Crespo clinched the match and secured the title for the Ospreys with his victory on Court 2 against Eminefendic.

North Florida earned the league's automatic qualifier to represent the ASUN in the 2024 NCAA Men's Tennis Championship. The Ospreys await the selection show which airs on NCAA.com Monday, April 30.
