After A 3-0 Victory, Stetson Hatters Earn Seventh #ASUNBVB Championship Title

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. - The Stetson Hatters defeated the Eagles to capture the 2023 ASUN Beach Volleyball Championship Title in a Sunday afternoon matchup. Stetson entered the conference tournament as the top seed and earned victories against #8 Central Arkansas, #4 North Alabama and #2 FGCU twice to win the program's seventh league championship.

The day began with a semifinal matchup between #2 FGCU and #3 North Florida. The Ospreys picked up the first dual point of the match on Court 5 courtesy of ASUN All-Conference Pair Chantel McMillan and Hayden Wooldridge. First Team All-Conference Kacie Johnson and Madison Parmelly won on Court 1, and Dylan Brewer and Nicole De Oliveira clinched the match for FGCU at the third flight to advance the team to its second consecutive ASUN Championship Final.

In the championship final, the Pair of the Tournament Aleksandra Stadnik/Lauren Della earned the first point of the contest before Audrey Gauthier and Noelle Weintraub scored again to earn an early advantage thanks to a 21-15, 15-10 victory on Court 4. The Hatters' top duo defeated First Team All-Conference Kacie Johnson and Madison Parmelly of FGCU 21-13, 21-15 to clinch the match and the championship for the Hatters.

- Today's appearance in the championship final marked the 11th consecutive for Stetson; the Hatters have played in every title match in league history
- The Hatters won their seventh conference crown and second consecutive title after the defeat of FGCU in Jacksonville, Fla. 
- Stetson remains the only league team in ASUN history to receive an automatic bid into the NCAA Championship 
- With its victory against FGCU, Stetson earned their second win in the ASUN Championship title by a score of 3-0; the only program to do so in conference history
