Lipscomb's Brenner & Liberty's Doan Tabbed ASUN Women's Cross Country Scholar-Athletes of the Year
2021 Spring ASUN Women's Cross Country All-Academic Team
ATLANTA, Ga. - Lipscomb's Courtney Brenner and Liberty's Calli Doan were voted the 2021 Spring ASUN Conference Women's Cross Country Scholar-Athletes of the Year, highlighting the seven-member All-Academic Team. This marks the second time Brenner has earned the award while Doan becomes the first Flame in program history to claim the honor.
Brenner boasts a 4.00 cumulative GPA as a Dietetics Major at Lipscomb. She placed fourth at the 2021 ASUN Championship with her time of 18:06.7 which earned her an invitation to the NCAA Cross Country Championship. She was the first Bison in program history to make an appearance at the event.
Doan, a junior Exercise Science major earned a 4.00 cumulative GPA along with guiding her team to the 2021 ASUN Championship. She finished second at the event as she helped her team to earn a spot at the 2021 NCAA Cross Country Championship.
The All-Academic Team recognizes student-athletes who excel both on the field and in the classroom. All the members of the team boast a 3.30 cumulative grade point average or better and participated in at least half of their team's events.
