Stetson's Joe Beery Earns @ASunXCTF Scholar-Athlete of the Year
Academic All-Conference Team
MACON, Ga. - The Atlantic Sun Conference announced the 2014 A-Sun Men's Cross Country Academic All-Conference Team as Stetson's Joe Beery earned the Scholar-Athlete of the Year award.
Beery was a top runner for Stetson all year and led the Hatters in the A-Sun Championship on November 1st. The sophomore runner finished on the 8K course at 33rd with a time of 27:05.96. In the classroom, Beery boasts a 4.00 GPA with a double major in Philosophy and Russian Studies.
The Hillsboro, Ohio native set a season-best time in the 8K at the UCF Invitational, finishing in third with a time of 25:51.97. That time was the best time for the Hatters on the 2014 campaign.
FGCU's Courtland Bernard, North Florida's Justin Bryan and Northern Kentucky's Brady Holmer join Beery as unanimous selections to the Academic All-Conference Team.
