JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – Central Arkansas and Jacksonville earned this week's Atlantic Sun Conference (ASUN) Baseball honors, announced Monday by the league office.
Zeb Allen was named Player of the Week he produced a .556 batting average and 10 hits in 18 at bats on the week for the Bears. He recorded four home runs, 11 RBIS, 11 runs, three stolen bases and added two doubles on the week. His four home runs set the UCA single-season home run record after already secured the program’s career home run record earlier this year.
Alex Walsh earned his sixth win of the season, a mark that currently ranks second in the ASUN conference, to be named Pitcher of the Week. During his Friday outing, he allowed just one hit, holding the Royals scoreless for six innings. He maintained a 0.00 ERA and limited his opponents' batting average to .048, causing 8 Royals to strikeout.
