Men's Golf 4/23/2026 4:17:18 PM FGCU Claims Programs First ASUN Men’s Golf Championship, Gamboa and Ruiz Top Two in Individual Play VALDOSTA, Ga. - In the final round of the 2026 Atlantic Sun Conference (ASUN) Men’s Golf Championship, the FGCU Eagles took flight, winning the program’s first men’s golf title by 11 strokes while two of their golfers took the top spots in individual play. The Eagles, who finished at three under par for the round, used their 20 pars and an eagle from Sebastian Gamboa on the 11th hole in round three to cruise to the win. The title is the first for FGCU in men’s golf after finishing third and fourth in the previous two championships. Stetson took runner-up in the team competition finishing four under par while EKU (861), Lipscomb (863) and North Florida (867) rounded out the top five. The Eagles’ Sebastian Gamboa claimed the individual title after a dominating week. The junior out of Merida, Mexico, becomes just the second FGCU player to take the tournament. After carding back-to-back 67 scores in the first and second rounds, his score of 70 today was enough for a three-stroke lead over teammate, Sacha Ruiz. Following Gamboa and Ruiz in first and second place, EKU’s Anders Larson finished with a 208 score for third place while Brandon Lohr (Jacksonville) and Patton Samuels (Austin Peay) took fourth and fifth place, respectively. 2026 ASUN Men’s Golf Championship Round Two Results - Team 1.
