ASUN Men’s Golf Championship Set for Opening Round

VALDOSTA, Ga. - The Atlantic Sun (ASUN) Conference Men’s Golf Championship is headed back to Kinderlou Forest Golf Club in Valdosta, Ga., the second year the championship has been held there. The ASUN Men’s Golf Championship will take place April 21-23 with teams playing three 18-hole rounds.

Staggered tee times of five-minute increments will begin on Tuesday, April 21 between 8-9:35 a.m. ET off the first and 10th tees with No. 1 FGCU, No. 2 Stetson, No. 3 North Alabama, No. 4 Lipscomb, No. 5 North Florida and No. 6 Jacksonville teeing off on hole one while No. 7 Central Arkansas, No. 8 EKU, No. 9 Austin Peay, No. 10 Queens, No. 11 West Georgia and No. 12 Bellarmine teeing off on the 10th hole. Rounds two and three start times will be based on team standings following the previous day’s round.

Central Arkansas looks to defend its title after capturing its first ASUN Men’s Golf Championship with a final score of 838 (-26). The Bears jumped out to an early lead, carding 17 under par in the opening round. They followed up with scores of 281 and 286 to edge out Stetson for the championship trophy.

Stetson’s Gaspar Glaudas looks to defend the individual championship after he shot a 205 last season and finished the tournament 11 under par. After carding a 70 in the opening round, Glaudas shot 67 and 68 in the final rounds to separate himself from Sebastian Gamboa (FGCU) and Noah Blaickner (Central Arkansas) and claim the title.
